Build your customer flue register

Every chimney you sweep is its own durable record: appliance, fuel, construction, liner, last-swept, next-due. The flue register is the spine the fuel-aware rebook and the 30-second clone-last re-issue both run on.

What it does

The flue register is your customer-by-customer record of every chimney you sweep, stored alongside their normal customer record. For each chimney you keep:

  • Location in the property
  • Appliance type and fuel
  • Construction and liner type
  • Last-swept date and next-due date

This is what makes the annual rebook automatic, the insurance-proof pack one-tap, and the re-issue 30 seconds rather than ten minutes.

Why it is worth using

Without a register, every visit is a fresh data-capture job and every rebook is manual. With the register, your customers carry their chimney history forward year after year, the rebook fires automatically when each chimney is due, and a return visit pre-fills the new cert from the last one.

Before you start

You will need a TradeBooked account on the Pro or Autopilot plan with trade type set to Chimney sweep, and a customer in your directory.

The flue register is part of the chimney-sweep tools on Pro and Autopilot. The trade type sets the tab label and field set.

Setup steps are in your dashboard

This is a Pro feature. Sign in on a Pro plan to see the step-by-step setup for your number.

Common questions

Do I have to add every chimney by hand?

Only the first record per chimney. After that, issuing a cert against a booking updates the matching chimney record automatically.

What if I do not know the construction or liner type?

Leave it blank or set to Other. You can update later as you build a picture of the chimney across visits.

Can I add a photo to a chimney record?

Yes, one photo per chimney. Useful for the pot, the appliance plate or the liner top so the next visit (or another sweep in your team) recognises it at a glance.

What if a customer replaces their stove or relines?

Update the chimney record next time you visit. Major changes (replacement appliance, new liner) are best captured as a fresh record so the history of what was installed and when stays clean.

What plan do I need?

The flue register is part of the chimney-sweep tools on the Pro and Autopilot plans.
