Issue a chimney sweep certificate

Per-job sweep certificate in two steps. Property and per-flue capture, then sign-off with your HETAS / NACS / Guild registration. The PDF is emailed to the customer (with landlord or agent cc), stored on the booking and feeds the fuel-aware annual rebook.

What it does

A chimney sweep certificate is your evidence-grade record of the work: which chimney was swept, the appliance and fuel, the tests you carried out, any defects, and the next-due date.

On TradeBooked the cert is built per job, signed against your HETAS, NACS or Guild registration, locked when issued, and emailed to the customer with the option to copy in a landlord or managing agent. A copy stays on the booking and on the customer's record.

Why it is worth using

A sweep certificate is what home insurers and landlords ask for as proof of sweeping. Issuing it from your phone before you leave site removes a manual step, replaces a paper book, and feeds the fuel-aware rebook so the next visit lands itself.

Before you start

You will need a TradeBooked account on the Pro or Autopilot plan with trade type set to Chimney sweep, your HETAS / NACS / Guild registration number, and a booking on the job (created from a customer booking, or a New scaffold-style manual create).

Common questions

How long does issuing take?

Three to five minutes on a one-flue job, longer for multi-flue properties or where you are also fitting a cowl. The two-step wizard is shorter than CP12 because there is less statutory detail to capture.

Can I correct a cert after issuing?

No. Issued certs are locked as a record. Issue a fresh cert with the corrected detail and note the change in the recommendations. The original stays on file.

Does the customer get the cert automatically?

Yes. On issue the PDF is emailed to the recipient on the cert. You can add a landlord or managing agent cc. A copy stays on the booking and on the customer record.

Can I take CCTV photos and add them to the cert?

Yes. Photos taken against the job (or imported from your camera roll) attach to the cert and render alongside the PDF. Useful for liner damage, bird-nest evidence, and post-sweep clean shots.

What if I have no signal in the basement?

The builder works offline. Drafts autosave locally and sync when you are back in range. The cert can be issued the moment you have signal again.
