Why UK electricians use TradeBooked

You cannot take a call when you are inside a consumer unit, working on a rewire, or testing a circuit. TradeBooked takes bookings for you around the clock and notifies you the moment a customer confirms - with everything you need to prepare for the job already filled in.

The electrician booking form captures property type, rough age of the property, fuse board location, and what work is needed. Landlords need an EICR on a five-year cycle and they book on deadline, so those bookings land on your page at eleven at night, with a deposit taken if you want one, instead of arriving as a voicemail you return between jobs.

Most electricians run a booking tool and a separate certificate tool. TradeBooked is both. On Pro and above you issue the BS 7671 paperwork from the job itself: an Electrical Installation Condition Report, a Minor Electrical Installation Works Certificate for an addition or alteration to an existing circuit, and an EV Charge Point Installation Record for a charge point handover. Each one follows the model form the IET published for BS 7671:2018+A4:2026, carries your scheme registration number, and is emailed to the customer (and their landlord or managing agent) before you pack up. PAT testing records are covered too.

Every document you issue carries a QR code. An EICR usually ends up with a landlord, a letting agent or an insurer, and none of them has a reliable way to tell a real report from a Word template. Scanning takes them to a page showing the reference number, the business that issued it, the inspection date, the date the next inspection is due, and whether a later version has replaced it, so they can hold it against the copy in their hand. It is worth being precise about what that proves: the document is the one you issued, with the details it was issued with. It does not vouch for the work. Competence, scheme registration and the readings themselves stay yours.

Found in search - not behind a paywall

Your electrician booking page ships with local-business structured data and is submitted in our sitemap, so Google, Bing, DuckDuckGo and AI search tools (ChatGPT, Perplexity, Claude) can index it directly. Customers searching for a electrician in your area find you - not a marketplace lineup.

Is TradeBooked right for electricians?

A good fit if

  • You are a self-employed electrician taking your own bookings, and you want them online 24/7 without playing phone tag.
  • You want customers to send job details, and a deposit, up front, so you arrive prepared and no-shows cost the customer, not you.
  • You want your own direct booking link and page, not a listing on a lead-generation marketplace.

Probably not, if

  • You want a marketplace to find you new customers. TradeBooked manages bookings from customers who already have your link. Pair it with Checkatrade or MyBuilder if you still want lead generation.
  • You run a large multi-branch or franchise operation. TradeBooked is built for solo electricians and small teams.

The facts

  • No commission, ever. Deposits and payments go straight to your own Stripe account. TradeBooked never takes a percentage and charges no per-lead fee.
  • Flat monthly subscription from £29/month, on the Solo, Pro, or Autopilot plan.
  • 10-day free trial, no credit card required. You can be live and taking bookings the same day.
  • Your own booking page, indexed by Google, Bing and AI search, not a marketplace listing you share with competing trades.
  • Built only for self-employed UK tradespeople.

Frequently asked questions

Yes, on the Pro and Autopilot plans. The Electrical Installation Condition Report follows the model form the IET published for BS 7671:2018+A4:2026, so the sections, the classification codes and the wording are the ones an inspector expects. You code every observation yourself. TradeBooked only counts them, and the overall assessment follows the rule printed on the form: any C1 or C2 makes the installation unsatisfactory. The report is numbered, signed under your own declaration with your scheme registration number, and emailed to the customer and, if you add them, the landlord or managing agent.

A Minor Electrical Installation Works Certificate covers additions and alterations to an existing circuit: an extra socket-outlet, a lighting point, moving a switch, replacing an accessory or a luminaire. It does not cover a new circuit or a consumer unit change, which need an Electrical Installation Certificate, and it is one certificate per circuit. TradeBooked says so on the form itself, because reaching for the wrong form is the commonest way this certificate goes wrong. Available on Pro and above.

Yes, both ends of it. EV charger installation is a pre-built service on your booking page, so the customer books and sends the site details before the survey. Afterwards you issue an EV Charge Point Installation Record on Pro and above, covering the Section 722 checks and the handover. It records that visit and does not replace the installation certificate for the circuit itself, and it is deliberately not put on a renewal cycle: the periodic check belongs to the condition report for the fixed installation.

Every document you issue gets a QR code and a private link. Whoever holds the document scans it and sees the reference number, the business that issued it, the inspection date, the next date due, the property area and whether a newer version has replaced it, so they can check it against their copy. The link is the only way in: nothing can be looked up by address or by certificate number, and nothing about the property is published. It confirms the document is the one you issued. It is not a judgement on the work, on your competence or on your scheme registration, and it does not check your readings.

Yes. NICEIC registered badges are supported on the Pro and Autopilot plans and are displayed on your customer-facing booking page. Your scheme name and number are also recorded on the electrical documents you issue. The documents themselves follow the BS 7671 model forms and are never described as NICEIC, NAPIT, ELECSA or STROMA certificates; your scheme is recorded as data, the way a CP12 records a Gas Safe number.

Customers tick an emergency flag at booking. You can configure an automatic call-out uplift charge for urgent jobs. You receive an immediate notification with the job marked as urgent.

Yes. Deposit collection is available on the Pro plan. You set the deposit amount per service. For higher-value jobs like consumer unit upgrades or full rewires, taking a deposit at booking significantly reduces no-shows.

Yes. 10 days free, no credit card required. Most electricians are live and taking bookings on the same day they sign up.
