What you are setting up
Before you take a real booking, get the basics in place so the rest of the sweep tools (the certificate engine, the per-flue register, the fuel-aware rebook, the insurance-proof pack) have something to work with.
These are the same setup steps as any other trade on TradeBooked, plus two sweep-specific ones (HETAS / NACS / Guild credential, and confirming the sweep-aware booking questions).
Before you start
You will need a TradeBooked account on the Pro or Autopilot plan with trade type set to Chimney sweep, your HETAS (or NACS or Guild) membership number to hand, and a default weekly hire rate for the kind of work you do most.

Common questions
Do I need HETAS to use TradeBooked as a chimney sweep?
No. HETAS is not mandatory. NACS, the Guild of Master Chimney Sweeps and similar bodies are equally valid. Display the one you hold; customers and insurers look for any recognised badge.
Can I take bookings only in season?
Yes. Set tighter working hours and lower coverage out of season, expand them through autumn and winter. You can also block days off through summer holidays. Reminders and rebooks keep ticking regardless.
What services should I offer at booking?
Single sweep and Multi-flue sweep cover most demand. Add a Free quote visit for new properties, plus add-ons for CCTV inspection, cowl fit and bird-guard fit so customers tap to add at booking rather than calling.
Do I need to set deposits?
Optional but recommended. A 10-20% card deposit at booking cuts seasonal no-shows without putting customers off. The cancellation policy is shown before they pay.
What plan do I need?
The sweep certificate engine, flue register, fuel-aware rebook and insurance-proof pack are on the Pro and Autopilot plans.
