Set up quote follow-ups
Chase quotes automatically so fewer go cold. TradeBooked sends a warm check-in email if a customer has not responded, and you can add SMS nudges on top.
What it does
Quote follow-ups chase customers who have not responded to a quote, so good leads do not slip through the cracks while you are on the tools.
There are two parts:
- Auto-email follow-ups: a warm check-in email is sent automatically if there is no response
- SMS nudges: an optional text channel you send from the Quotes page
What each plan includes
| Plan | Quote follow-ups |
|---|---|
| Any plan | Manual email nudges from the Quotes page |
| Pro | Automatic email follow-ups, plus optional SMS nudges |
| Autopilot | Extended follow-up: a second chase and smarter timing |
Before you start
You will need a TradeBooked account on the Pro or Autopilot plan for automatic follow-ups. SMS nudges use your monthly SMS allowance.
Setup steps are in your dashboard
This is a Pro feature. Sign in on a Pro plan to see the step-by-step setup for your number.
Common questions
When does the automatic email go out?
A warm check-in email is sent 48 hours after a quote if the customer has not responded.
Do SMS nudges cost anything?
SMS nudges use your monthly SMS allowance, so each message draws from that. Email follow-ups do not.
Can I chase a quote manually on Solo?
Yes. Manual email nudges from the Quotes page work on every plan. The Pro automation just does it for you.
What does Autopilot add?
Extended follow-up: a second automated chase and smarter timing on top of the standard 48 hour email.
How long should I wait before following up on a quote?
48 to 72 hours is the consensus. Any sooner reads as pushy; much later and the lead has gone cold or hired someone else. The auto follow-up fires at 48 hours by default.
What do I do if a customer goes quiet after the quote?
It happens a lot. A HomeServe / Opinium survey of 2,000 UK adults found 38% asked a tradesperson for a quote and never heard back, and 41% admitted ghosting a tradesperson at some point. A friendly auto-email at 48 hours, then one human-touch nudge a few days later, is enough.
How many follow-ups is too many?
Three is the practical ceiling: the 48 hour auto-email, one polite check-in a few days later, and one "closing the loop" message. After that, move on, the lead has chosen.
Should I drop the price if they go quiet?
Usually no. A silent customer is often a price-shopper or a customer who has already chosen someone else. Dropping the price trains future quotes to expect a discount. Defend your price, ask what they would need to feel confident booking, and walk away cleanly if it is not a fit.
What plan do I need?
Automatic follow-ups and SMS nudges are on Pro and Autopilot. Manual nudges are on every plan.
