Set up Message Assist

Message Assist rewrites your rough invoice notes into customer-ready sentences in your chosen voice. It never invents details and runs in about 30 seconds to set up.

What it does

When you finish a job, you type a few bullet points about what you did. Message Assist rewrites those bullets into a tidy, customer-facing note for the invoice in a voice you have chosen.

It never invents details. If a part name or a timeframe is not in your notes, it will not appear in the rewrite.

You pick a Domestic voice (for private homeowners) and a Commercial voice (for landlords, letting agents and business customers). Each invoice uses the right one automatically, and you can override per job.

What it does with your notes

Your rough notes are sent to our AI provider to be rewritten in the chosen voice. We keep a copy on your account so you can rate drafts, which helps us tune the feature. Shared AI models are never trained on your data.

Common patterns of personal data (UK postcodes, phone numbers, email addresses) are automatically redacted on our servers before any note leaves TradeBooked. This is best effort, not guaranteed, so keep your bullets focused on the work, not customer personal details.

You will need a TradeBooked account on the Autopilot plan.

Common questions

Will it make up details I did not write?

No. The promise is that it never invents details. If something is not in your bullets, it will not appear in the rewrite. The preview also flags any phrases the AI added so you can sense-check.

How does it know which voice to use?

It picks the Domestic or Commercial voice based on the customer type on the job. You can override the voice on any single invoice from the draft sheet.

What about customer personal details?

TradeBooked redacts common patterns of personal data (postcodes, phone numbers, email addresses) before any note leaves the platform. It is best effort, so keep your bullets focused on the work rather than personal details.

Is there a daily limit?

Yes, there is a daily draft limit shown in Settings > Message Assist. The wizard preview does not count against it.

What plan do I need?

Message Assist is on the Autopilot plan.
