Turn on push notifications on your phone

Get a buzz the moment a customer books or replies. Install TradeBooked to your home screen, then enable push from the prompt (or from Settings > Notifications > Web push alerts).

In a hurry? Quick steps

  1. Install TradeBooked to your home screen first (iOS: Share > Add to Home Screen. Android: Menu > Install app)
  2. Open the home-screen app and look for the "Get instant alerts" prompt
  3. Tap Enable notifications and allow the permission prompt
  4. Tweak which push types you want in Settings > Notifications > Web push alerts

What it does

With push notifications enabled, your phone buzzes the moment a customer books, replies, or hits any of the events you choose to listen to. You see new work before they call the next trade on their list.

It works through the TradeBooked home-screen app (a PWA), which behaves like a native app once installed.

Step 1: install TradeBooked to your home screen

Web push needs the home-screen app, especially on iPhone, where Safari does not deliver push from a regular browser tab.

iOS (iPhone/iPad):

  1. Open TradeBooked in Safari
  2. Tap the Share button
  3. Tap Add to Home Screen
  4. Tap Add

Android:

  1. Open TradeBooked in Chrome
  2. Tap the menu (three dots)
  3. Tap Install app (or Add to Home screen)
  4. Confirm

Step 2: enable push

Open TradeBooked from your home screen, not from the browser. You should see a prompt: "Get instant alerts for new bookings".

Tap Enable notifications and allow the system permission prompt that follows.

If you do not see the prompt (you may have dismissed it before), open Settings, then Notifications, then the Web push alerts panel, and tap Enable on this device. You can also use Send test push from there to confirm it is working.

Step 3: choose what triggers a buzz

In Settings > Notifications > Web push alerts, three toggles control which events push to your phone:

  • Booking updates: new bookings, customer status updates, and clarification replies
  • System announcements: operational messages and non-booking updates
  • Policy and compliance: policy notices and compliance nudges, including credential alerts
These toggles only affect push delivery. Your Activity feed in TradeBooked still shows every notification.

If notifications are blocked

If you previously denied the permission, the prompt does not show up again.

On iPhone: open Settings, Safari, Advanced, Notifications, and allow notifications for TradeBooked, then reopen the home-screen app.

In a desktop browser: tap the lock or info icon in the address bar, find Notifications, allow them, and reload.

Common questions

Why do I have to install the app first?

Web push from a regular browser tab is unreliable, especially on iOS where Safari does not deliver it. Installing TradeBooked to the home screen makes it behave like a native app and unlocks push.

Does it work on iPhone?

Yes, but only via the home-screen app. Add TradeBooked to your home screen first (Share > Add to Home Screen), then open it from there and enable notifications.

Can I test a push without waiting for a real booking?

Yes. In Settings > Notifications > Web push alerts, tap Send test push. Your phone should buzz within a few seconds.

I do not see the prompt any more.

Either you dismissed it (it backs off for 14 days), or your browser does not support push. Open Settings > Notifications > Web push alerts and tap Enable on this device.

What plan do I need?

Web push notifications are available on every plan, starting at Solo.
